Helping Hands Society of Cochrane and Area (HHSCA) is a volunteer-driven nonprofit dedicated to building a stronger, more connected community by mobilizing volunteers to support individuals and families in need. Our programs address food insecurity, isolation, and access to essential services throughout Cochrane and the surrounding areas of Western Rocky View County. We work collaboratively with partners, donors, and volunteers to create meaningful local impact through practical help, compassion, and community care.
HHSCA is driven by an incredible team of volunteers who are passionate about making a difference in their community, and a team that maintains contact and active communication with the community they serve. Reporting to the Food Security Program Manager and working closely with the rest of the team, the Communications Assistant will play a key role in maintaining Helping Hands’ digital presence across social media and our website. This position is ideal for a creative storyteller who enjoys developing engaging visual and written content, is comfortable with digital tools, and can work independently in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.
This is a part-time position of 12 hours per week (includes 1-hour weekly team meeting and 1-hour meeting with the Program Manager) with an hourly compensation of $20. This position may be expanded in the future, contingent upon business needs and funding availability.
This is a remote position, with occasional in-person meetings or events.
