For too many Cochrane residents, the cold weather presents more challenges than simply shoveling snow and putting winter tires on the car. People who are unhoused face hardships most of us can’t imagine, from the struggle to find a safe, warm place to rest to the absence of warm winter clothes and healthy food.
The Coldest Night of the Year is a family-friendly walk developed to raise money for local charities serving people experiencing hurt, hunger, and homelessness. This fundraiser is designed to help us realize the many challenges faced by the less-fortunate members of our society. In Cochrane, the event is being hosted by Helping Hands, with the support of an incredible number of sponsors and volunteers.

Join us to help better understand the obstacles related to homelessness, hunger and other challenges. Team up, fundraise, walk and gather for good… because it’s cold out there.
The event starts at 4 p.m. at Riverfront Park, and concludes at 7 p.m. after a walk through Cochrane. To learn more about the event, the fundraising options or to support one of our team of walkers, please visit the Coldest Night of the Year website.
