Community Food Drives support those in need
Helping Hands’ original program started in 2007. For many years, this twice yearly event in September and April was an excellent demonstration of true community spirit. These semi-annual Food Drives attracted more than 800 volunteers to collect and sort food donations that stock the Food Bank for Cochrane & Western Rocky View, which is operated by the Cochrane Activettes.
The year 2020 brought many changes including the usual operation of Helping Hands semi-annual Food Drives; forcing us to adjust to many smaller community food drives throughout the year with gathering restrictions and pandemic protocols.
This popular community-wide event continues to adapt AND offers a great opportunity for families with children of all ages to participate! Sign up to help us with Food Drive collection!
In 2022 we had 522 volunteers work a collective 1367 hours to successfully execute food collection from every Cochrane community. Thank you Cochrane for your continued generosity!
