How to Build a Free Community Pantry
Access to food is a big problem. Food Banks Canada notes that as many as one in five Canadians report going hungry. Albertans have the highest rate of food insecurity in the country, and students are especially at risk. Working together at the community level with food rescue initiatives between the Helping Hands Society and local food suppliers, we can go a long way to supporting vulnerable individuals and families while keeping food out of the landfill.
You don’t need a big budget. You need community.
A Community Pantry is more than just food — it’s connection
With a simple setup and a caring community, you can create a space where neighbours support one another every day.
Start one. Share one. Be part of the difference.
